What Are The Major Factors That Set Consumer Advertising And Business-to-business Advertising Apart?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Both of the types of advertising are meant to persuade the target audience to get engaged in buying behavior.  Nevertheless there are several factors that set business-to-business advertising apart from consumer advertising.  These basis of these differences has mainly to do with the nature of both these types of advertisements.  Firstly the factor of marketing concentration is different in both types of advertising.

Where business-to-business advertising is meant for a specific and definite market segment, consumer advertising targets the masses that are spread over a wide geographical region and therefore costs higher than business-to-business advertising.

Moreover the target market as well as the advertiser of a business-to-business advertisement uses a rational (hard-sell) approach in shaping decisions and designing advertisements rather than going with the emotional flow (soft-sell approach) that is the case with the stakeholders of consumer advertising.  In addition to that, the strategic orientation of both types differ a lot too where the decision-making autonomy is very limited and restricted in business-to-business decisions as opposed to personal decisions.
