There are a number of routes for locating people. Start with your phone book. Many phone book companies also have websites which allow you to search for a person. There are also Internet search engines that may search for a person for a fee. If you decide to go this route, be sure to get one that is reputable before paying.
Another method is to use word of mouth. Think back to common acquaintances and consider contacting them if possible. They may have information on the person you wish to contact.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to get some information on public records from the courthouse in the area where the person lived. This is a resource that many people use when doing research on family history.
Failing these ideas, an option is to place a newspaper or radio ad asking to be contacted. The chances of reaching the person may be slim, but this method has worked in the past.
