Where Can I Find A Dictionary Of Cherokee Terms?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Cherokee are a native people from North America. They spoke the Cherokee language. Dictionaries in hard copies can be found in libraries and book stores especially those related to Universities specializing in studies related to the Native American people. Since the Cherokee Nation is today centred in the state of Okalahoma, libraries and book stores found there are probably the best in relation to material relating to the Cherokee n the United States. For quick reference purposes however the internet is a good place to search. Dictionaries and reference books can be ordered from online book stores. White Dove's Cherokee dictionary is a possible title to search for. There is even an online English/Cherokee dictionary wehalli.com

Though the Cherokee language which is actually an Iroquoian language was poorly written on the internet earlier the addition of the Cherokee syllables to the Unicode has considerably improved internet use.
