 The term "it's raining cats and dog" originated when there is heavy rainfall, it creates a hassle which leads to the same kind when the cats and dogs fight. |

not sure about this - I heard it relates back to the days when roads & paths had inadequate drainage systems and when it rained very heavily, you would see cats or dogs that had drowned in the flood waters!!
