What Are The Characteristics Of Transitional Metals?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Transition metals are those elements of periodic table which are present between second group and third group of periodic table. These elements are present in d-block of periodic table because valence electrons are filled in d-orbital of the atom. These metals are less reactive as compared to other metals like alkali metals and alkaline metals. They are good conductors of electricity and heat. These metals are very hard so, they have high densities. The melting and boiling points of transition metals are high. Moreover, these metals show more than one valencies because electrons are filled in d-orbital of atom of transition metal.
