Where Is Barrie?

    Barrie is the county seat of Simcoe County. It is located on the Kempenfelt Bay, an arm of Lake Simcoe. It comes under Central Ontario Canada. The population of Barrie was close to 174,000 in the Barrie Census Metropolitan Area. The north end of the city and the south end are both separated by a deep valley, this valley comprises of the downtown area, it also includes the Kempenfelt Bay.  The northern Area of Barrie plays host to Highway 11 and Highway 400 interchange. By many people this is considered as a gateway to the northern Ontario resort destinations.  

    Barrie is also home town of the McLaren Art Center. It is an innovative gallery that primarily supports the visual arts in Simcoe County; the center also inspired the "Art City" project.
