Where Is Garelochhead?

Garelochhead is a tiny town in Scotland. It is on the Gare Loch in Argll and Bute. It is the closest town to the naval base the Her Majesty's Naval Base, Clyde. It is about eleven km northwest of Helensburgh, at the head of the Gare Loch. To the west of Garelochhead is the Loch Lomond and to the west of it is the Loch Long. It is full of serene natural beauty. Its beauty is unfortunately spoiled by the presence of the naval base. It has a couple of local shops, pubs and churches. It is also home to a bowling club and has an excellent Community Centre situated in Gibson Hall.

The military carry out training exercises in the hills nearby. Garelochhead has a population of 1,265 people. The inhabitants can make use of the Garelochhead railway station if they want to access the West Highland Lane.
