What's Wrong With Cartoons These Days?

Are you asking about western or eastern? Western cartoons are too limited and they are still seen as kiddie fare. That's sucks because when you turn on the tv and flip the channels on Saturday, its' hard to find one that will keep you watching on end. Primetime cartoons are meant to be a little maturer than their Saturday cousins, but the problem remains they are also limited in range. Eastern cartoons(anime) are very diverse in genre, but most of the characters are archetypes and paper cutouts.  As for animated features, don't get me started...I have to admit that cartoons are in better quality than they were in the past, but some of them just want you to throw out the tv. I can make a list about this, but it takes up too much space.  Just know that I'm still trying to figure this out myself, but I'll stick with watching old school Hanna Barbera and Looney Tunes.
