How about this: The nine doors are the nine orifices in a body: 2 pupils, 2 ears, 2 nostrils, 1 mouth, 1 for pee and 1 for poo. All doors open when one is born and all close when one dies. So that door would have to be the grave, or the coffin lid or something.
