When Was Mother's Day Originated?

    Mother's day is a day honoring Mothers and is celebrated in almost all parts of the world. The official celebrations of this day are very recent as it was practiced since the early 20th century. However, the origin of mother's day is different in different cultures. That is why it is celebrated on different dates by different cultures.


    Some believe tha tit started from ancient Greece who has a festival  for the Great mother of Greek Gods Cybele. It was celebrated from 15 - 18 March. Ancient Romans also had a similar day that was dedicated to Juno. The Mother's day celebrated in U.S is fairly recent as they started it around early 20th century. Whereas the one they celebrate in U.K is mothering day and was started in 16th century.
