    In WW2 Italy was not a major role like Germany and japan , but it did have a effect. Important things they did was keep the mediterranean clear of allies presence, control north Africa , and would be a role if the USSR decided to invade on one front while Germany would defend the other. When the Italians were put into the German army they were mainly at the back in small numbers. Tell me if this helps

He spearheaded the fascist regime and wanted to create an empire on the lines of his ancient Roman heritage. According to some historians Benito Mussolini entered the war at the behest of Winston Churchill and was a cohort of the British so as to mitigate with Hitler. Also, it is said that he was intend to be used as a front against U.S.S.R, a common enemy for both Mussolini and Churchill.
