What Is Aikido?

    Aikido is a Japanese art of self defence. It utilizes locks and holds and employs the principle of non-resistance to cause the opponent's own momentum to work against him. It is like using of Boomerang in physical process. Aikido basically emphasizes the importance of achieving an absolute psychological peace and serenity and it is entirely dependent on the control of one's own body to master against opponent's attack. One important and noteworthy point to remember about Aikido is that there is no offensive move or act associated with the Aikido directly as it is the art of protecting own-self. It outlines its origin to Japanese martial art or samurai tradition. Aikido is developed as a modern form during the early 20th century by Veshiba Morilei.
