There are many sites on Italy, that specialise in renting apartments and villas, these are usually holiday places and are furnished to a high standard, with a weekly rate to go with it.
I suggest you look for a bed and breakfast as it will be more affordable.Locals are unlikely to rent out a flat for a week.

You should be aware that you will pay dearly for this type of accommodation, as May is peak season.
