A Pagoda refers to a religious structure mainly found in the Far East. It is specifically used to refer to a multi-storeyed Buddhist tower. Such structures are usually memorials or shrines.
It is basically a structure made out of stone, brick or even wood. It is generally concerned with a Buddhist temple complex and the enshrinement of sacred relics. This particular structure has evolved from the Indian stupa. The top ornament of the pagoda is usually in the shape of a pyramid or a cone in regions like Burma, Thailand, Cambodia etc. it is in the shape of a bottle in the Tibet region.
Architecturally, the pagoda has extremely less interior space which can be used as it is chiefly intended to be a monument.
