My Kittens Are 1 Week And 5 Days Old. When Will They Urinate Or Move There Bowls?
Their mom is doing the right thing by stimulating them in their genitals but they don't do anything but meow. Also where will they do it when they are ready?
Kittens need simulation to urinate and defecate until they are 21 days or 3 weeks old. Often with a very attentive mom you will not see evidence of feces or urine as she cleans this as she's stimulating urination and defecation. The feces are usually a pasty yellowish tan and will become fully formed at weaning. Make sure all kittens are feeding and mom is paying attention to them all. Monitor their weights weekly--this is one of the best ways to assess kitten health and development. Nursing kittens should double their weight in the first 10 days. They should gain 1 pound a month for the first 4 months. If you are concerned about any of the kittens have them examined by a veterinarian.
Oh I didn't know mom cleans it. I change their bedding every 5 days and I look for stool and urine and I don't see anything. So this is why I don't. I took a warm wet paper towel and stimulated the girl kitten 2 days ago and she peeded but the boy didn't do anything. Ill keep trying though to make sure. I do see Jazzie(mom) licking their privates all the time so I pray that's whats shes doing. Thanks for the feedback.
