Make sure there's plenty for them to play with indoors. They're used to chasing insects/animals outside, climbing trees, and so on. Provide similar experiences inside with a "jungle gym" for cats. You can find them at any pet store or make one yourself for way less. My now-indoor cat loves toys that move with just the slightest tap of a paw, maybe because that's how her prey would behave outside. Give them window access so they can still see the world outside.

I have 3 cats and they are all inside cats but I still had them chipped just in case. Anyway, I keep a water bottle by our doors and everytime we go in and out the door if the cats are by our feet waiting to run out I squirt the water by their feet. We did this for at least a month every single time we came in or out. If one managed to run out we'd immediately grab him and say NO to him looking him in the eyes. PESISTANCE is key. I know it seems funny or extreme but now none of them try to escape out the door and the even seem uninterested in doing so. I hope this helps...
