    Pens are a great way to promote your company, but in terms of physical advertising space there's not a lot to play with. It's vital therefore to think carefully about what your marketing message is going to be.

    Get all your main details on there, but don't cram the available space. Nowadays, a logo and web address may be all you really need to hit the right buttons with your audience. Otherwise, the company name and main contact telephone number are crucial.

    Unless you are planning to give them away at a particular event like a trade show or during a marketing campaign, it's best to avoid anything that may instantly date your giveaway. And order pens with black ink as these tend to be retained for form filling etc.

    Once you receive your pens, there are lots of opportunities for presenting them to customers in a fuss-free way. Place a bunch of them at locations where customers congregate. This is a low impact method that requires little effort on your part.

    Good places are beside your visitor's book, at check outs or enquiry desks.
