4 Consider the weight of the bat. It is better to start with alight bat and gradually switch over to the heavier one

5 take good care of your bat by oiling regularly and storing  it properly to avoid damage
6 Bat weights vary according to the bating order and measured in pounds and ounces.
7 Openers use lighter bats ( 2lbs 8 oz- 2lbs 10 oz)for faster bat speed
8 number three and four (2lbs 9oz – 2lbs 110z) for more aggressive batting styles
9 numbers five, six and seven ( 2lbs 10 oz – 2lbs 12 oz)
10 Numbers eight and nine are usually required to stay at the wicket so it is advised not to have a big heavy bat.
11 Numbers 10 and 11 use the heaviest bats (3lbs plus)
