There are wonderful sites throughout the internet that can tell you step by step tutorials and tips for certain subjects.  About.com is a good website for a variety of subjects: People, Animals, Fantasy, ect.  If about.com's staff doesn't have what you are looking for, it also has links to other sites that may have what you are looking for.  Polykarbon is a great website for learning to draw manga, it has really in depth diagrams as well as step by step tutorials.  If all else fails then you can find a website that sells books on specific topics like animals, for example.
