    To date, former Manchester United legend Bobby Charlton is England's top goal scorer, with Charlton, one of the original Busby babes, scoring forty nine goals in one hundred and six appearances for his country.  Charlton represented England from nineteen fifty eight until nineteen seventy and was an integral part of England's world cup triumph in nineteen sixty six.  

    Current Match of the day presenter Gary Lineker is England's second highest goal scorer, with the former Spurs, Everton and Barcelona striker scoring forty eight times in only eighty matches, in an international carrer spanning eight years from nineteen eoghty four until nineteen ninety two.  

    England's third highest goal scorer is probably their most prolefic, former Chelsea, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur striker Jimmy Greaves scored forty four times fro his nation in only fifty seven matches.  greaves has also score more hat tricks for England than any other player.
