What Is The Difference Between Win 98 And The Linux Operating System?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It's easier to name the similarities: they are both operating systems.
That's it. EVERYTHING else is different:

Windows was made by Microsoft, Linux was made by Linus Torvalds and a huge open source community.

Windows is expensive, Linux is free.

Windows (especially Win98) is unreliable and crashes very often, Linux is known for its reliability and even used by large corporations for critical systems

Windows 98 is based on DOS, Linux is based on a monolithic Kernel

    And so on.

This list could be absolutely endless. These two systems are as different as Mars and Earth (both planets in our solar system but other than that completely different).

Hint: Download Ubuntu Linux and try it.
