The US of America join the The Viet Nam War is stop the Communist spreading into southeast asia. The basis was on Truman's theory of the "domino effect" which had no historical backing.

HISTORY shows that Viet Nam was always fighting for their independence from French Colonial rule. Vietnam rely the communist support was because US of America did not help Vietnam because they support France to regaining their colony lost during World War II.

Only the US of America read the history books before entering into the conflict in Viet Nam. That Viet Nam and China never get on with each other, The Vietnamese fought the Chinese over the thousand years to be independence. Such a lesson would save so many lives and suffering.

History reference: Only two countries who has Chinese influences over the centuries still independence today are: Viet Nam & Korea. Japan the other but they are an island similar to England very difficult to invade by sea.
