I Have FAP. How Strong Are The Chances Of Developing Colon Cancer After A Colectomy?

I have FAP and my doctor goes back and forth on removing my colon. My husband and I are curious how strong the chances are of me getting colon cancer after the removal of it. At present I'm 42 and have had over 100 polyps removed with at least that many remaining still. I'm at least the 3rd generation in my family with these polyps. My doctor never gives me the same diagnosis 2x in a row. I've been going to him for over 10 years.

FAP is the abbreviation of Familial adenomatous polyposis, this ia genetically inherited condition of having polyps in the intestine. These polyps may develop some cancerous condition in digestive tract. At this stage if you are not having cancerous cells in your GI tract, the removal of colon will minimize the risk of colon cancer to a great extent

First I would get a second opinion from a recognized colo-rectal cancer surgeon. Second if you are the 3rd generation, what happened to your relatives? Thirdly can all you polyps be removed by colonoscopy? You need more info
