At What Age Do Children Start Getting Potty Trained?

I wanted to know: What age do kids start getting potty trained. And what would be the best way to teach a 2 year old how to potty train?

All of my children were potty trained in their early 3's.  I usually start trying as soon as they take their own diaper off and bring me another one. However, we just experiment with it until they show more interest.  I am a laid back mom, they let you know when they are ready to add a new milestone. We lived in the country when my son was a toddler, and he thought it was so fun to try to pee on the cat outside. Of course I thought that was hilarious. Of course he never came close.  But for me that wasn't even the point. (He wasn't using a diaper).

my kids were over 3 yrs old.  don't do it too early or you'll be doing it again.  their bladders and brains are not developed enough to figure this all out.  be patient it will happen. And don't let pull up commercials fool you- my kids figured out right away they were disposable, so they just treated them like diapers.  the pull ups are good for outings and overnight, and tummy viruses.

With each child it is according to their own schedule. There are some behaviors that determine readiness. One is that the child recognizes that they are evacuating. Like when they bring you the diaper because they know they need to be changed. Between 2 and 3 is the norm or median age for this. Each Child has their own formula for what will work. My son who had always crawled into the bathroom when i went, would not have anything to do with potty chairs. My best friend suggested putting him on the regular toilet backwards, which gives them more security and stability and allowed for better aim(boy). He took to that and did well.

My niece started potty training at one when she brought us a clean diaper in exchange in getting the dirty one removed. She didn't like to be dirty at all. It all depends on the child and when they are ready.
