Impotence can be caused by one of three reasons - physical, hormonal, emotional. The best place to start is by eliminating any medical causes first. These could be as simple as fatigue, stress, backache, particular drugs you're taking. To check hormone levels only requires a blood test. Your normal GP can deal with these matters but there are doctors who specialise in sexual dysfunction and you could seek out one of these if you prefer.
If however your impotence is caused by an emotional reason, it's a little more complicated. The main considerations are these -
performance anxiety
general anxiety
distraction - that is, your mind is on something else, not focussed on making love
emotional stress
relationship difficulties
insecurity
Once you identify the central cause of your dysfunction, it's relatively easy to improve things. Anxiety about the problem is the worst thing you can do as it literally adds pressure and will in fact, increase the difficulties. Having a supportive partner also helps. If you can relax and enjoy sex without fear of failure, that will immediately help.
