I'm A Month To Month Leaser And Was Given A 30 Day Notice To Move Because The Owner Wants To Sell Her House. I'm A Mother Of 3 And Still Have Not Found A Place Can I Push For More Time?

Can I push for more time if I have children and my 30 days are up.

In many states, even though you are a month to month renter, the fact that you have done nothing to violate, your lease may mean there is a minimum amount of time they are required to give you to move. The Landlord Tennant laws vary from state to state, but it should be fairly simple to find out.

Quite a few of the larger cities have very strict LL&T laws and a call down to city hall should get you headed in the right direction, then approach the LL in as nice a way as you can and tell them that as much as you would like to accommodate them and will try, you have in reality x amount of days before you have to move and cite the regulation. Of course you will still be required to pay rent during this time just like always. If you waited until the time is up, you may have to negotiate with the LL and still find out about the rules in your area governing these problems, next time try and start the day the problem arises.
