What Type Of Food To Koi Eat?

I have a medium size pond, approx. 10' long x 3' wide x 3' deep, and it has about 22 fish in it. It came with the house I recently purchased and I have no idea how to care for it, let alone do I have any idea what kind of fish they are; gold fish or Koi fish. How do I tell the difference? Either way, I've been feeding them fish pellets that the previous owners had here and they seem to be eating it, but I don't know what it is. Can you help?

Koi will eat just about anything.  Most pond owners have trouble buying plants for a koi pond because the Koi end up eating the plants for lunch.  A pellet food is totally acceptable but they'll eat fruit and vegetable and even worms.  Look under their mouth for "barbells."  Goldfish do not have these but Koi do.

Koi like to eat a lot of things, but certain foods are recommended, here is a website that shows you what is good to feed your koi:

I hope your little fish have a happy well-fed life in their happy pond with their hopefully satisfied owner! :)
