Answer Question

    This question offers a good example of how to do it.

    As with any other mixed fraction, you multiply the integer part by the denominator of the fractional part and add the result to the numerator of the fractional part. Express the result over the denominator.

    3.5 = 3 1/2 = ((3*2)+1)/2 = (6+1)/2 = 7/2

    Express the integer part as a fraction with a denominator of 1 and add as you would fractions.

    3.5 = 3 1/2 = (3/1) + (1/2) = ((3*2) + (1*1))/(1*2) = (6+1)/2 = 7/2

    3.07 = 3 7/100 = (300 + 7)/100 = 307/100

    Note that this last result is the same as 3.07*(100/100) = (3.07*100)/100 = 307/100.
