What If You Just Moved Into A Apartment And Started Having Major Health Issues But Never Had Them Before The Move? Afterwords Someone Who Once Lived There Tell You The Complex Once Had A Toxic Mold Called Festise.
I've been waking up with major headaches, been admitted in the hospital for accelerated heart rate and fever and now have high blood pressure and taking a lot of medicine since I've moved into this apartment. I just want to know could there be a possibility that the mold called festise come back, since they never tore the building down and rebuilt it? My children have even complained of headaches.

It is an odd thing how the health is affected by environment like this. I had a job in an office ( major US retailer ) for about 6 months. Felt fine when I started the job, but went downhill fast. Couldn't concentrate at work, unable to complete my required work even though I had done it well for years. Sinus headaches, colds, run-down feeling. Went to doctor and got treatment for the symptoms, but the treatment was ineffective. Finally put two-and-two together. It was a " sick " building ( open ductwork dripping fluids pooling on the floor ). One morning at 08:30 AM, I walked into my manager's office and gave my id and door-opener, saying I quit. When I said it was for my health, they were laughing. Best ride on the L I had in that 6 month's time. I wasn't laughing too much later on when that manager lost her job. Never any good to lose a job.
In your case, please think long and hard about whether you need to stay there. You would probably be better off elsewhere. Your decision.

I would definitely let my landlord know and have he/she have the apartment checked. Mold can cause severe health problems. I would leave and stay elsewhere until the apartment has been tested for mold. Some of our relatives lived in a house that had mold and one member had to be hospitalized. Don't take a chance, the landlord needs to resolve the problem, and if he/she doesn't another option that may be easier is to contact the local health department.

Mold is VERY tricky to get rid of, even after you think the problem is gone, spores can be left over in the wood and drywall and even in the dust of the house.
There are several options you can try to see if this is the case.
1. Have a specialist come in to test the area, not just your air but especially in your crawl spaces and air vents. This will let you know for sure if there is mold (or maybe some other issue that is causing your health issues).
2. Get an air purifier that is approved for removing mold spores and allergen's. This can at least get you some short term relief till a specialist can come in or you are able to move/renovate.
No matter what you do, your landlord/lady should be involved and paying for it. Mold is an issue that wont effect just one apartment but the entire building. If they are unwilling, just explain to them that if you are dealing with mold and you have told them about it and they knowingly let you live in a dangerous place they could be looking at a lawsuit. Mold is very serious and can not only cause short term health issues but long term and even death.
