The name India has been derived from the river Indus which is the most significant and longest river in Pakistan. It originates from Tibetan Plateau lying juxtaposing to Lake Mansarovar. The Tibetan plateau is situated on the high altitudes and in midst of mountain ranges.
The Lake Manasarovar is actually located 4556m above mean sea level and is believed to be highest fresh water lake.

The Lake Mansarovar is widely known for its sacred and religious importance. The pilgrims from Tibet and from the neighboring countries assemble there. Most of the tourists visiting this Lake are Indians. As per the Hindu mythology, the lake is the abode of swans that are wise and sacred birds.

The Indus River runs from the North of Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir in India and finally merges into Arabian Sea.
