      Boater1 is correct, it does help to build physical endurance.  It also is a good cardo vasicular exercise.  It helps to establish a good sense of balance.  It builds eye-hand coordination.  It can help to keep your weight down simply because it is exercise.  Lots of good things come from playing sports of any nature.  There are also the down-sides of a sport.  Broken bones, sprains, eye injuries, bloody noses, broken nones and loss of teeth are just a few that come to mind.  When a sport has safety equipment available you are foolish not to use all that is available.  I hope you have a great time playing and score one for Nanat!
