Should We Use Guns Or No?

Hand guns  should  only  be able
to  be   used  for  protection by
someone  who  has  a  clean
history of  not  being  a criminal
and  a  clean history of  no
mental  illness

Guns are for some reason a very emotional topic.I am an avid hunter,and was raised early on around firearms.I was taught to handle them safely and effectively.Guns for the purpose of self defense,hunting and target shooting should be perfectly acceptable in the hands of a competent shooter.Background checks are required at gun shops when purchasing.If a crook wants a gun,they will find one,stolen or whatever.To make guns illegal would serve no purpose other than to remove them from law abiding citizens.Crooks will steal or use illegal methods to aquire guns,since laws mean nothing to them anyway.
  Blaming guns for crime is like blaming car companies for drunk drivers,just not logical.Blame and prosecute the individual,not all gun owners as one group.Handle them safely,responsibly and obey the law.Seems simple enough.
