My Kitty Is Throwing Up Everywhere In The House, What Might It Be? I Need Help Someone, Please

I have 8 cats and the one thing that causes any of them to vomit is a dirty litter box. If the litter is not changed regularly, a cat can refuse to use it and because they are not defecating, everything they eat comes right back up. Also I have had friends that because of lack of living space the food bowl has been set around or near the litter box. The cat would vomit excessively. Once the food was placed away from the box, the vomiting stopped.
