    The Longest River of United Kingdom is River Severn. It is approximately 220 miles or 354 kilometers long. It rises on Plynlimon near Llanidloes in Mid Wales. It also then flows through Shropshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire etc.

    It is considered as the greatest river when it comes to water flow. The main tributaries of this river are Vyrnwy, Teme, Warwickshire Avon and Stour. The Basin of this river is 11,420 square kilometers.

      As previously answered, the Severn is the longest river in the UK.  However this was not always the case. Prior to 1949, when Ireland became a Republic, the United Kingdom included Ireland and the longest river in the UK was the Shannon - 240 miles long
