How Do You Formally Quit A Job?
I always thought you just handed your resignation letter to your boss, and were good. But I think I am wrong. I have only been working at this place a month, and want to quit near the end of the month in August. What do i do to quit this job, formally, and legally?

Just write that resignation letter, make sure you give them 2 weeks notice, and you're done. There really isn't any more to it than that. I believe when I left my last job, I just told them I was leaving, and asked them if 2 weeks was a long enough notice, or if they'd like a month to find someone else. I really liked my job and the people I worked with, so I was willing to do more for them to have a smooth transition. It sounds like you really dislike this job, so you don't owe them anymore than the letter, if you choose to write one, and a 2 week notice. Again, good luck.

A letter of resignation is appropriate. You may also set an appointment with your immediate supervisor or with the boss and explain your reasons for leaving. Never burn your bridges behind you. Do not say anything detrimental against the company but instead tell them how you benefited from working there and why you feel you need to move on.
