What Do You Feed A Garter Snake?

Answer Question

You may try to find some wild insects like beetles and preferably grasshoppers, or go to a petstore and buy some crickets, meal-worms, king-worms, or pink mice (if they have any).

personal opinion; if the snake is wild, it might be best to put it back and buy yourself your own snake, because no matter what size, wild animals are unpredictable and should be allowed their space.

    Good luck!

Depends on the species of Garter Snakes, some will eat just about anything they can swallow, while others may only eat specific things.  For instance I have a coast garter that thus far has eaten: Worms, slugs, snails, frogs, pinky mice, lizards, fish, and once he ate a sharp tailed snake, but I also have an oregon garter that won't eat anything but fish and frogs.  So really you need to put the effort into researching what type of garter you have and what type of food it likes.

Garter snakes DO NOT LIKE BUGS!!!!!!! I hear people always saying they think/know that, but they just think that if other reptiles do, they probrolly do, too.
