How Many People Attend The Carnival At Notting Hill?

    The Notting Hill Carnival, which is held each August bank holiday since 1966, is one of the largest street festivals in all of Europe.  The carnival, held the last weekend of every August, has attracted a total of 1.5 million people in previous years.  People from all over the world are drawn to this 'Caribbean Carnival' every year.  With a procession of costumes, soca and steel bands and hundreds of stalls offering exotic foods and interesting arts and crafts, there is something for all ages to enjoy.  As a 'Caribbean Carnival', the Notting Hill Carnival celebrates the cultural heritage of its' founders while still being open to the ever changing contemporary culture and all multiracial and multicultural trends.  The Notting Hill Carnival is a great time spent enjoying live bands, local and international, trying new foods and seeing, and purchasing, arts and crafts.  With the carnival being free it is open for all to enjoy!
