What Is The Climate Like In Slovakia?

    Slovakia lies to the East of Europe; most of the country is mountainous. The Carpathian Mountains in Slovakia divide the countries of Poland and Hungry. The mountains have also placed most of the northern parts of the country at an altitude of 750 m or 2,460 ft above sea level.

    Slovakia has a continental climate. The country is damp with no defined dry season. Clouds form and it may start raining without warning on a sunny day. The mountainous regions are naturally damper. Average summer temperatures are 29ºC. Winters bring sub zero temperatures and most of the mountains are covered with snow and the low lying areas get covered in fog.

    Average temperatures are for January are -1ºC, February 0ºC, March 5ºC, April 11ºC, May 15ºC, June 18ºC, July 20ºC, August 20ºC, September 16ºC, October 11ºC, November 5ºC and December 1ºC.
