Mice are not a protected species. A mouse is a creature that belongs to one of the many class of small rodents. The most well known type of mouse is the common house mouse. It is found in virtually all parts of the world.

The American white footed mouse and the deer mouse also at times tend to live in houses; they tend to live up to two years in laboratories, the average age of a mouse in the wild is only up to three months mainly because of the large number other animals who eat them. Cats, Wild Dogs, Foxes, Birds-of-prey and snakes are some other animals that prey on mice. Mice are generally regarded as harmful pests who damage and eat crops and spread various kind of diseases through vermin and feces.
