Lansing in Michigan boasts a whole range of things to do for all ages and very eclectic tastes. As the capital city of Michigan and the proud founding place of Michigan's car centre, here are 5 things you need to do:
1. Visit the State Capital Building which is an architectural delight with its extremely impressive circular glass floor and lots of hand painted decoration.
2. Take a cultural trip to the Michigan History Museum. This brings history to life, with many interactive exhibits. There is even a copper mine which has been designed as an authentic replica. There are even some relatively recent exhibits from the 20th Century.
3. Spend a day at Potter Park Zoo. Here you will find stunning range of animals, many of whom face the threat of extinction in the wild. Most interesting are the Red Pandas and the Black Rhinos, but there are over 100 species here: you won't fail to be impressed.
4. After all that activity why not just get back to nature at Sleepy Hollow State Park. A myriad of wildlife is just waiting to be seen. The park is an incredible 2,600 acres in size and offers a range of activities such as fishing or canoeing etc or you can just chill and watch nature at play.
5. Have a taste of different cultural influences at the All Around the Africa World Museum. This museum explores the contributions and influences which people who are of African descent have had on all continents of the world and here we can learn just how much they have shaped the world in which we live.
