How Do You Install Drivers?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you are downloading drivers from the internet, you will learn that most drivers you find online are self extracting. That is, you just have to select the destination (for example an exe file) and save it in a new folder on you desktop. Click on the file and it will automatically extract the software and the other related files needed for the installation and save them onto your folder automatically. You can also move the files to a floppy disk. Usually only Windows Executed Files are self-extracting.

Among the files will be the installation program called "setup.exe", it may also be named as "install.exe". When you find this file, click on it and it will give you an option to beginning . If you do not find any such file, look for a file called "Readme.txt" which is an alternative way to install the driver.
