The scientific name for an earthworm is NOT Lumbricus lumbricus. The scientific names for animals are the genus and the species. The genus for an earthworm is Lumbricus, but the species for an earth worm is Terrestris. So the scientific name for an earthworm is Lumbricus terrestris.
