Where Is Inchture, Perth?

Answer Question

Inchture, Perth is in Scotland. Inchture is a small village that lies in the Carse of Gowrie. It is situated around eight miles south from the city of Dundee. Its name is derived from Innis –tuir that means island of the tower in Gaelic. It seems that this little village was reconstructed on the lines of a new toll road in the nineteenth century. There used to be a tram link that was drawn by horses, from the Dundee-Perth railway and Inchture that started from Inchture Station.

In the north of Inchture lies the Rossie Priory that was originally the home of the famous Kinnaird family from which Douglas Kinnaird hailed. He acted as banker and literary agent of the famous poet Lord Byron. The Inchture Hotel is also located here.
