What Is The Average House Price In My Area?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

As per the report of Department of communities and local government, price hiked to 9.9 percent in December 2006 where as it was 8.8 percent in November. That makes an average house cost 200,000 pounds in the United Kingdom. The Department of communities and local government's surveys rate is similar to other surveys.  However, other organizations state that the actual prices are lower. The surveys prove that the prices of houses in United Kingdom have reached the 200,000 pounds margin several times. The land registry shows a quarterly report of last November which proves that the prices increased to 211,453 pounds. Nationwide and Halifax says that the average price is based on their own mortgage.

All the reports and surveys prove out that the price rate of houses is rising rapidly across the country. With average house price breaking the 200,000 margin, the market has smashed the physiological barrier, which may hinder the interest of first time buyers. The present average price of a house is 200,000 pounds and for more information you can check on different web sites or log on to news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6353321.stm .

The best place to find house prices in your area is the Zoopla website - it has Land Registry sold house price data like the other sites, but also gives free value estimates on UK properties - house prices in my area

If in addition to historic house prices at Land Registry, you may try Nestoholic, www.nestoholic.com for asking house prices (disclaimer: I am part of the team who created it).

It compares asking prices per location in the UK per calendar month and the recent trends per area.
