Flatulence refers to the presence of the mixtures of gases that is present in the digestive tract of mammals thst is known as Flatus. Under great pressure the flatus is given out through the anus. The flatus is normally accompanied by a distinctive sound and smell. Flatus or this process is more commonly known as farting. The non smelly gases are mostly nitrogen which is ingested. It also includes carbon dioxide and hydrogen to some extent. The lesser amounts of gases that are included are Methane and Oxygen.
The smell in the flatus is because of the certain amount of traces of gases like Sulphur. The primary gas that is released is Nitrogen, lesser components include Hydrogen and Methane, and these gases are slightly flammable. Thus the flatus is susceptible to catch fire.
