There is an excellent site that allows one to track US-based (originating) flights for commercial and most private planes if they file a flight plan (which commercial flights/airline almost always do). The user may go to the site and input the airline and origination airport to see the flight live (screen updates every so often) and shows a graphic on screen. On this site, one can also track by tail/aricraft number for small jets/aircraft. It is a free service to consumers. The disadvantages are if a flight originates outside flightaware's area, the information is often unavailable.

Zuhail has mentioned another alternative, also. In addition, most airlines have a toll-free number you can call to identify departure and arrival information only. Good luck--and hope you enjoy the fight tracking site!

You need to go the specific website of the airline for which you want to track the flight. Go to the schedule section and give the flight name. It will return the result of the timings of the flight for you.
