Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Slovak "Koruna" which translates to crown in English is the currency of Slovakia. It has been around since 1993 before which the Czechoslovakian Koruna was in circulation. The Czech Republic uses its own version of the Koruna.

The hailer is the subdivision of the Koruna. And each Koruna has a hundred of these. The Slovak Koruna is available in notes and coins. The denominations of coins include 50h, 1Sk, 2Sk, 5Sk and 10Sk. The notes available are of the denominations 5000, 1000, 500, 200, 100, 50 and 20 Sk. The term Sk denotes Slovak Koruna and is denoted in notes and coins.

The current exchange is approximately 36 Slovak Koruna for a Euro, 54 Slovak Koruna for a British Pound and 28 Slovak Koruna for a United States Dollar.

The country plans to replace the Slovak Koruna with the Euro in the year 2009.
