You can take her to the doctor. It sounds as if she has an infection that shouldn't be taken lightly.

Hi, I see you are getting very strong advice, but they are right. Please take your child to see a doctor ASAP. Do not delay any longer, the infection will not get better without treatment and it can spread very fast. Take care!

You can make a potuce using charcoal powder from health food store, take a piece of wet paper towel put 1/8 inch thick powder on wet paper towel fold over and tape to foot is should be tight as this will draw out the poison and put two garlic cloves in the blender with a cup of water and have her drink this as its like getting a shot of penicillin
would take her to the doctor but the charcoal will draw out the poison, russians used the garlic for penicillin in world war II also the doctor will have no knowledge of what or how to use the charcoal and probably tell you don't use it as they are just pill pushers

You can wait around till the blood flow is totally stopped and it all develops into an amputation....but seriously, you & the daughter should be speeding to the closest Emergency Room and on the way, stop ever so briefly to have the tattoo 'artiste' view the possible damage he maybe the cause of by not preparing the skin area properly, or not disinfecting the needles,by say an autoclave and/or completely protecting the tattooed area with a sterile gauze and clearly stating to your offspring the absolutely importance to keep the bandage in place and a schedule to change the same.

Lady, how did this kid make it to adulthood?

It's not going to have to be amputated. Go see the artist... Chances are it has something to do with how she is taking care of it or lack there of... You don't keep gauze on the tattooed area except for a few hours after initially getting it done.

Clean with antibacterial soap, use a thin layer of lotion (no fragrances or dyes). If she has to wear a shoe then she needs to put a little bit more lotion on to account for what the sock will absorb. Keep it open and keep it dry, but don't let it completely dry out...

It's her foot, a tattoo here is going to be more sensitive...

I guess I really don't understand my people get paint anyway. Things like this happen all the time and it could be one of 2 things. 1) an allergic reaction to the dye or just a sensitive area or on a more serious note 2) infection has set in due to things not being as clean as they should have been.

I do hope you had her go to the doctor before you went back to the artist. If it is infection, it can get into the blood stream and cause loss of limb if not treatly quickly. If it is just a reaction, then it will stop swelling in time and all is well until the foot decides to grow, the skin decides to age or the person gets an injury to the area.
