Iran's nuclear proliferation has earned it a notorious status in the eyes of the United States as well as all the other well-developed nations of the world, which include members of the European Union, of which Italy is a prominent member. Despite of the strong opposition of Italy in the United Nations against Iran's uranium enrichment, the corporate world of Italy does not seem to share the sentiments of its government. Most recently an Italian businessman named Paolo Scaroni is aiming to intensify the gamut of his investment in Iran. Pertaining to this situation, the United States has urged Italy to spread a stronger message against Iran to its corporations and all its major areas of functioning so as to achieve a consistent voice of opinion on the very matter. President George W. Bush, who is to visit Italy in the near future expressed the importance of having a single voice of concern over the issue of nuclear proliferation in Iran.
