Is There Any Treatment Available For Bronchitis In Aromatherapy?

    There are numbers of medications available under herbal and botanical medicinal study for treating bronchitis. In aromatherapy, the following essential oils may be used for this purpose –

    • Benzoin (Styrax benzoin)
    • Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora)
    • Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus)
    • Lavender (Lavandula officinalis)
    • Pine (Pinus sylvestris)
    • Sandalwood (Santalum album)
    • Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)

    These oils can be used individually or in a combination in adding with the water and inhaled thoroughly. Or the oils can be taken in a cotton cloth and to be inhaled through nose.

    Following is another combination of essential oils that is particularly useful for this purpose while performed steam inhalation:

    • Clove (Eugenia aromaticum)
    • Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
    • Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis)
    • Lavender (Lavandula officinalis)

    This mixture is found to be very effective in treating bronchitis if used on regular basis. The patient is advised to mix it with warm water and inhale the steam by covering the head with a cotton cloth.
